Fall Deco-1.jpg

Through seasonal wall decoration for nursing centers and children’s hospitals, YFC members create a warm, inviting, and uplifting environment for patients and their families. We aim to enhance the emotional well-being of patients, reduce stress, and promote healing. YFC enjoy thematic decorations celebrating holidays and special events, which bring smiles to those facing challenging times.

YFC members volunteered in a Folk Art class for people with special needs that promotes self-expression and social interaction in a supportive environment. We provided them with the tools and skills to explore various art forms, fostering pride in their work. Through hands-on activities, individuals can enhance fine motor skills and cognitive abilities while building confidence.

Our Beach Clean-Up project is dedicated to preserving our local shoreline by removing litter and debris from the environment. Volunteers join together to collect waste, reduce pollution, and protect marine life, creating a cleaner and safer beach for everyone. We also picked up trashes together in our neighborhood on our community clean-up day.

The goal of volunteer activities at Second Harvest Food Bank is to alleviate hunger and improve food security in the community. YFC play a vital role in sorting, packing, and distributing food items to those in need. By engaging in tasks such as organizing food drives and assisting at distribution events, we, YFC help ensure that nutritious food reaches individuals and families facing food insecurity, making a positive impact on the lives of those we serve.

At Shadetree Nursery near UCI, YFC participated in a variety of engaging tasks centered around sustainable gardening. We help with planting, weeding, and maintaining native plants, contributing to local biodiversity. This hands-on experience not only promotes ecological stewardship but also fosters a sense of community, enriching their understanding of sustainable practices.

Our participation in the OC Turkey Trot supports health and wellness while giving back to the community. This Thanksgiving-themed event combines fitness with charity, as funds raised go towards local causes. By joining the walk/run, we contribute to a spirit of gratitude and generosity, connecting with others while promoting a healthy lifestyle.

Following the severe storms of 2022-2023, Peters Canyon Creek became overwhelmed with trash, impacting water quality and forcing local wildlife to relocate. Recognizing the need for action, YFC collaborated with OC Public Works to restore the area. Through dedicated cleanup efforts, we successfully removed the waste, allowing the creek to return to its natural state, with wildlife thriving once again. This project not only improved the ecosystem but also strengthened our community’s commitment to environmental stewardship.
