The recent fentanyl crisis has been driven due to a loose grasp on the medications that have been so deeply incorporated into our world. A dose as small as 2 mg (as small as a pinch of salt), can cause cardiac arrest within any individual. This crisis has significantly affected the high school population with how easy it is to obtain illegal fentanyl from online social media platforms and the susceptibility of high school students as a easy market. This is where CPR and LifeSavers comes in. CPR can be administered up to 4 minutes after disconnection of oxygen before the brain starts to undergo permanent brain damage. LifeSavers is a project to educate high school students to be certified in CPR training as well as educate them on what can cause cardiopulmonary arrest & how to prevent it from occurring. LifeSavers is developing an app to allow for an on-the-go use for whenever an issue with CPR arrives, to best aid in saving more lives.
