Nursing Home Volunteering
YFC has had the honor of being able to volunteer at both a nursing home and assisted living location. In their activities, they've had the experience of talking to and entertaining the residents, assisting the resident and staff, learning about paperwork, and understanding the dynamics of the medical workplace.
They have been volunteering and collectively contributed over 600 hours! They get to talk to and learn about the lives of many of the residents. It's an experience where they truly get to learn about the history of these residents and the wisdom that's been gained over many years.
Members of YFC have also been able to assist in the workplace to further aid those who have been supporting the geriatric population.
Art Therapy Support
for
Elderly/Alzheimer Patients
Using their experience trained by Mandala Art Therapy experts, YFC members regularly help seniors in nursing homes, including Alzheimer's patients, participate in art activities freely and comfortably. We help seniors express their emotions naturally using a variety of colors, and help them feel sensory stimulation and a sense of accomplishment by having positive conversations about past memories, family, etc.
